"Corfu Town Old Fortress Tour"

Easy 100%

Corfu town is characterized by the presence of two fortresses. One considered to be “new”, since the middle ages, and one “old”,  perfectionated also in the middle ages, especially under the dominion of the city of Venice, but firstly build during the time of the “Eastern Romans”, a time well know in Europeans, as the “Byzantine Empire”. Today in the 21st century, we are willing to meet this big construction under a new perspective, and that is not on foot inside it, but rather while being at sea level, were the breeze will keep us alive and happy for the whole activity time. Visit this “defensive complex” using: a) SUP (Stand up Paddling) or b) Kayak Snorkeling equipment will be provided anyways!

"Paleokastritsa & Skeloudi Caves"

Moderate 100%

Paleokastritsa” is a magnificent rocky coastline place on Corfu, with amazing beaches, crystal clear waters & some interesting caves. According to traditions, “Paleokastritsa” was firstly inhabited by Spartans colonists while on their way to Sicily.  A bad weather situation forced them to stay in this place forever. The location was mythologically bonded to “Odysseus” adventure, through Homer’s “Ulysses”. It was here that “Odysseus” was found almost dead and rescued on the beach by “Nafsika”, daughter of “Alkinoos”, king of the island. Nowadays “Paleokastritsa” is very well known as a top touristic destination while still  holding on it’s peek a monastery dedicated to “Virgin Mary” with a couple of monks in it. Our main means of tour in this sea is the kayak, focusing on a extremely nice activity around all the beaches of “Paleokastritsa”. It is just a highlighted tour for really sure!

"Kardaki Active Tour"

Easy 100%

The ancient temple of “Kardaki” (510 b.C.)  dedicated to an unidentified till today deity, possible Apollo, is named after the close by spring (“Kardaki”). Characterized by Doric, Ionic  & architectonic styles of the “Magna Grecia” (Ancient South Italy) the temple is located close to the beach while the spring is even closer, almost at shore. The famous ancient historian “Thucidides” mentions in his books the “Kardaki” location by the name of “Meteora”. Our tour is actually taking place along the shore of this ancient temple. The coast we are paddling in modern times, is along a vast public garden, by the name of “Mon Repos”, where one century ago the British ruler had his mansion, and after him the ex-king of Greece had his “Summer” Palace. The point of no return of our tour is the “Kardaki” spring and thw   stone old dock, a spot for public swimming and snorkeling. Sea bottom is full of a weed called “Poseidonia” and this presence demonstrates the healthy sea environment of this close to town region.

Swim Trek

"Ortholithi Swim"

Moderate 100%

Agios Gordios beach is one of the most famous on the island specially for the sand, the scenic rock cliffs, the green sea and the numbers of its visitors. But what gives this sandy beach a great  charateristic it's a big tall rock on it's left side, which is know by the name of Ortholithi (Standing Stone).
Our swim will start from the main beach on the left side and close to the cliffs, where the sea is relatively shallow for the whole swim. Our target is to reach Ortholithi rock, explore the area, have a small reast on a small sandy beach close ot it and get back to the main shore again.
By moving close to the cliffs, we will be able always to admire the sandy bottom with some fallen rocks into it. The sea in the area has a green color and the waters are clrystal clear most of the time.
Ortholithi is a place some snorkeling tourists dare to reach for an explore. But swimming to it is something totally different.
This big rock is just after a small boat port that we will meet in our course. Instead of getting straight to the rock, we prefer to just overpass it and head towards the deep sea before making a left turn describing a nice circle around it. Afterwards we get to the shallow small sandy shore that resides between the rock and the cliffs, have some nice refreshments and a rest stop for chatting and fun.
By that shore rest point we will be able to admire not only a big part of the North - West coast of Corfu Island, towards the other famous sandy beaches like Glyfada and Pelekas, but also the Agios Gordios beach itself which will look so far way, actually 1.5km. Yes it is pretty amazing how far you can can go sometimes by using just some swim capabilities.
Our way back to the beach will be a great finale. Once on shore it will be time for a small snack enjoyng that feelling, that we have conquered by swimming that lonely big rock, away from the beach and 99% of its visitors.
Lifeguard escort and RESCUE BOAT will provided for the swim.

Swim Trek

"Paleokastritsa Caves & Skeloudi Isle Swim"

Moderate 100%

Paleokastritsa is a location on the North West part of Corfu Island. Sea waters over here are particulary clean and fresh cause of the frequent NW streams & winds while their color is deep blue cause of the depth, which can arrise as much as 25 meters in certain points. These factors assure the casual trek swimmer that enjoyment in the sea is guaranted.
This swim is about completing a big circle all around Paleokastritsa beaches, caves & rocks while visiting the very small isle of Skeloudi, a very well know place for scuba divers.
The Skeloudi isle / rock has two sides. One is shallow and the other is really deep, giving the swimmer the opportunity to look down into all the different palettes of deep blue color. The rock of that isle penetrates the sea onto the ocean's bottom, being an extremely sight seeing by its own. This is actually the place that most of the scuba divers visit for their big adventure. The small isle is at least 200m from the closest rock shore while it's circumference is about 450m. From this isle we will be in position to look to Angelokastro, a knight's castle built in the 11th century on the highest rock of the area.
Leaving Skeloudi behind us, we will be swimming towards the shore and the big rock that holds the monastery of Virgin Mary on the top. Two hundred meters of deep ocean under us will give an almost freezing effect while tons of water are lying bellow. We are actully heading to the most know beach of Paleokastritsa, the Agios Spiridon beach, where the most of the tourists take their baths. In the bay of that beach we will visit an attraction, a big cave. While the most of the tourists apporach this site only by boats, we, on the other hand, will have the privilige to swim in it.
What follows next is the crossing of the bay, side to side, loooking for more rock shore to discovre new colors and uneaven bottom.
Lifeguard escort and RESCUE BOAT will provided for the swim.

Snorkeling

"Ermones Snorkeling SeaScooters"

Easy 100%

Most of the West coasts of Corfu are characterized by a sandy sea floor. This is not the case of Ermones beach along with some other, like Paleokastritsa. The reason for that is Ermones bay who protects the shore from both the big waves of NW and SW gusts. Waves within millions of years have the potential to transform the rock and the stones stones into sand by attrition.
The rocky and stony sea bottom of Ermones is ideal for snorkeling, specially because within this bay, another bay is formed in the northen part of it, giving a full protection to NW gusts which are the most common on the island of Corfu. It is obvious thougth that sometimes NW gusts can give this fresh sea waters like Paleokastritsa and like all other western beachs on the island.
Our snorkeling activity will comence in the bay of Ermones and will proceed into knowing the NW smaller bay within it. Green crystal clear waters is what we about to see and sure lot of rocks while the feeling of meeting the open ocean which spreads open wide after Ermones bay, is something that nooen can forget easily.

Snorkeling

"Anemomylos & SeaDoo® Sea Scooters"

Easy 100%

Anemomylos” (Windmill) is a famous place inside Corfu Town. Most of the residents of the “Garitsa” suburb visit this place for bath in the summertime, while in the winter some of them, by the name of “The Pinguins" practice winter swimming activities. Our fun will begin by using “Anemomylos” area as a starting point of our snorkeling activity involving electric Sea Scooters (SeaDoo®). Our goal is the “Kardaki” dock, close to an ancient temple of 510 b.C. Sea bottom of the area is full of “Poseidonia” sea plant, rocks and small fishes. After a rest stop at “Kardaki” dock we will end our activity possibly with some diving opportunity given by the existence of a 3m tall wooden dock in the area.
